What can I use the images for?
GPG is focused on portfolio work primarily, but allows “kinda commercial” uses for Designers under certain circumstances (to be allowed, the work has to benefit the designer directly, everyone has to agree, and everyone gets credited. A typical example of an allowed use might be using the images on Etsy to sell the garment/accessories. Unpaid editorial publication is also fine. Something that might fall outside the bounds of acceptability would be to use all the free resources at GPG, get a great lifestyle image, and then use it in a $20K ad campaign for the brand. This sort of project should involve studio rental, paid participants, etc. There more information in the General FAQ, and we’re happy to talk through questions anytime!
I have a specific (model, Stylist, MUA, Photographer) that I want to involve. Can I bring them to GPG?
Absolutely, as long as they’re also over 18! That being said, GPG is about collaboration between multiple participants, so individuals can’t book more that 2 30-minute slots at the same event. If you want to do a “big thing” around your Garment brand, we can do that too! It just takes a bit of planning.
Can I set up a whole event, where my designs are featured on multiple models and by multiple photographers?
Everyone loves this! We need to set it up well in advance though, so that other projects aren’t already scheduled during your feature night.
Is there a place to hang my designs, a steamer, etc?
Yes, we have retail rolling racks for clothes, as well a a clothing steamer on set.
Where do I do dressings/fittings/changes?
If you’re only dressing for a shoot or two, we typically provide your choice of a room divider area to duck behind, a curtained backstage, or adjacent private bathroom for wardrobe changes, depending on your level of modesty/requirements. If you’re dressing a bunch of folks, we usually set up a a spacious backstage.
What about mood boards, shotlist planning and other pre-production items?
We encourage attendees to build teams with one another, plan their shoots, and execute. We’re here to support by talking through standard practices for such things, editorial input, and production infrastructure! Let’s do it!
