DESCRIPTION:Schedule:\n12:00 PM: Welcome and Introductions \nLECTURE 1 (12:15-12:45pm): “THE MEANING OF LIGHT” or the “photo” in PHOTOgraphy\nLearn about the four “facets” of light: direction\, quantity\, color\, and quality. \nLECTURE 2 (12:45-2:15pm): “BOX WITH A HOLE” or intro to camera the “graphy” in photoGRAPHY\nUnderstand the exposure triangle\, “stops”\, shutter speed\, aperture\, ISO/ASA speed\, reciprocity\, white balance\, camera modes\, and more. \nHAND’S ON WORKSHOP: (2:30-4:00pm): “STUDIO 101” – Intro to concepts\, gear and common portraiture techniques\nStudio application: why strobes\, set safety\, radios\, camera setup\, light functions (key\, fill\, background\, rim\, accent\, etc.)\, “ratios”\, and common setups.\nYou’ll work hand’s on across several different setups with a group of G.P.G. mentors. \n4:00pm-8:00pm – Open community studio time. \nSeating is limited for the workshops from 12:00-4:00pm\, with open studio slots available from 4:00pm-8pm. DESCRIPTION:The incomparable Alan Osterholtz joins us for the fourth year running! Watch and learn as Alan demonstrates his unique alternative capture processes leveraging slow shutter\, light painting\, painted backdrops\, smart LED bars\, and other creative tools. Many viewers are surprised to learn that Alan’s imagery is captured in a single frame\, with real-world practical lighting and no compositing of any kind. He’s joined again this year by the ever-enchanting model\, Tiffany Berntsen.
